Happy Holidays!

I want to take this opportunity to thank each of you for investing your time in following my blog.

Each of you

inspires me to do more…and do it better.
It looks like 2006 will give us plenty to talk about…so enjoy the Christmas/Hanukah/Kwaanza season, and we’ll get back to business in the New Year.

Here A Million…There A Million

Here’s all you’ll need to know to chat your way through your next cocktail party:
One in 13 homes in California sold for more tha a million dollars in 2005, according to DataQuick Information Systems.  That’s a nice increase from one in 20 homes that sold for more than a million in 2004.

Interested in what a million dollars will get you in the Golden State?  The median-sized million-dollar home was 2,480 square feet with 4 bedrooms & 3 baths.

The most expensive purchase in the state was a 13,636 square foot, 6-bed/12 bath home situated on six acres in La Jolla.  It sold for $23.5 million in September.

And if you’re interested in the finance side of things, about 10% of the buyers paid cash.  Of those who financed their homes, the median down payment was 28% of the purchase price.
